At the Walla Walla Airport, you'll find several small wineries. These include

Dunham Cellars Located adjacent to the Walla Walla airport, this winery
produces an exceptional red blend called trutina, the composition of which
varies from year to year. The wines made here are for the most part big, long-
keeping reds.

U.S. 12 east of downtown.
Walla Walla Vintners This small winery does only red wines and in the
past has produced some excellent cabernet sauvignon and merlot. They also
make sangiovese, cabernet franc, and a red cuvee.

SOUTH OF WALLA WALLA
Glen Fiona Although it focuses almost exclusively on syrah, this winery
still manages to produce a range of distinctively different wines. Prices range
from $15 to $45, so there's usually something for almost any budget.

left on Old Milton Hwy., turn right on Braden Rd., and right on Lyday Lane.
Pepper Bridge Winery Crafting ultra-premium wines from estate-
grown grapes, Pepper Bridge is one of the state's premier producers of bordeaux-
style wines, with the emphasis on cabernet sauvignon. A state-of-the-art gravity-
flow winery ensures as little handling of the grapes as possible, which produces
smoother, more cellar-worthy wines.

Rulo Winery This small, family-run winery on the south side of
town produces outstanding and reasonably priced syrah and viognier. This lat-
ter is a delicious, food-friendly white wine with a wonderful nose. Don't miss this
winery. They also produce some outstanding chardonnays.

SPORTS & OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
Though the land immediately surrounding Walla Walla is rolling farm country,
less than 20 miles to the east the Blue Mountains rise to more than 6,000 feet.
Hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and hunting are all popular in these little-
