(Mac Ronells, St Andrews Rd, Pali Hill, Bandra West; meals ?70-170; 8.30am-11pm Tue-Sun) Reminiscent of
an Escher etching, with outdoor patios, balconies, and interior spaces stacked on top of
one another and connected by staircases, Candies is quirky. Each eating area has plants
and trees, lanterns and fairy lights, mosaic artwork, and gorgeous students wearing fedor-
as. The food is self-service, cheap and fine-enough, with sandwiches, rolls, salads and
curries well represented. Weekends are crowded.

( www.yogahouse.in ; 53 Chimbai Rd, Bandra West; light meals ?140-250; 8am-10pm) On the balcony of
Yoga House's bungalow by the sea is a little cafe with tasty and creative veg fare - much

away in the lush, bamboo-heavy spot for coffee, sandwiches, chaat and Punjabi standards.
The food is OK, but the setting is fantastic.

and Coorg to Kerala, are the specialty here. Veggies are particularly well served: the ra-
jma curry (kidney and green beans in coconut gravy; ?259) is extraordinary. The same
owners run Goa Portuguesa , specialising in fiery Goan dishes, and the Maharashtrian Diva Ma-
harashtracha , on the same block. From Matunga station, they're about 750m west along
Kataria Rd.
