Ifyoudon'twant touseaGamma Seal forwhatever reason, then youhave avariety ofalternat-
ive lids. There are the cheap press-on style lids, which are sold at big box hardware stores for about
two dollars each. These are not always airtight and will tend to crack and become deformed after a
while, thereby losing their ability to seal the bucket airtight. There are the tab-style lids, which are
often found on food-grade buckets. These lids are airtight initially and do incorporate a rubber seal,
but in general they are extremely difficult to take on and off if you seal them properly each time. If
you have to remove the tab-style lids on a daily basis, then you will understand why a Gamma Seal
is so great. So spend the extra few dollars and get a Gamma Seal. I feel pretty confident in saying
that once you go down the Gamma Seal route, you will never go back.
