3 QUILCAYHUANCA VALLEY
Kicking off in Pitec, this three- to four-day hike is only moderately difficult, but you'll
need to be well acclimatized. It winds up the Quilcayhuanca Valley through qeñua
trees and grassy meadows until reaching the Laguna Cuchillacocha and Tullpacocha.
4 INCA ROADWAY
A three- to six-day hike between Huari and the city of Huánuco covering well-pre-
served parts of an old Inca roadway. To book, contact the community tourism agencies
in Huaraz.
5 PISCO
Pisco (5750m) is one of the most sought-after summits in the Cordillera Blanca, with
hundreds of mountain climbers bagging it every summer. The approximately 5km trek
takes two to three days and brings you into stone-throwing distance of this thrilling
peak. Short, but very challenging.
