Newquay & North Coast
Classic Coastline
The north coast is home to Cornwall's classic beaches: golden sweeps of sand, backed by
dunes and rocky cliffs. Fistral, Perranporth and Gwithian are busy in summer, but there are
secret ones to discover, too.
Newquay Surfing
Unsurprisingly, the Atlantic coastline is blessed with Cornwall's biggest waves, so this is
ground central if you want to learn to surf. Newquay's the premier spot, but Bude, Perran-
porth and Polzeath are equally good.
Classy Cuisine
Celeb chefs are ten-a-penny (Jamie Oliver, Rick Stein, etc), but don't overlook the lesser-
known restaurants, as there are some real gems to dig up.
