Previewing a Remote Site on the Web
When the fi les are uploaded to the remote site, you and others can view them in a
browser. You will explore the remote site using a browser to check if the page looks
the same on the Web as it does in Dreamweaver. If you fi nd differences, such as extra
spaces, write them down and discuss them with your instructor. At this point, the only
difference that you should see is in the site address. When you preview over the Web,
the site will have an actual Web address instead of a fi le path.
To view the NextBest Fest home page from your Live Server:
1. Start your Web browser, type the URL of your remote site into the Address bar
on the browser toolbar, and then press the Enter key. The index.html page of
the NextBest Fest site from the remote server loads in the browser window. See
Figure 2-31.
