Trouble? If you don't see the new file in the Files panel, the Files panel is prob-
ably set to Remote view. Click the View button on the Files panel toolbar, and
then click Local view.
Setting Page Titles
Before you close the page, you will set the page title for the page. Recall that the page
title is the name that appears in the browser title bar. You should use the name of the
Web site and a descriptive word or phrase for each page so that users can quickly deter-
mine the overall page content. For example, you will enter “NextBest Fest - Home” as
the page title for the home page.
To add the page title for the home page:
1. In the Title box on the Document toolbar, select Untitled Document .
2. Type NextBest Fest - Home .
3. Press the Enter key. The asterisk next to the filename in the page tab indicates
that changes have been made to the page since it was last saved. See Figure 2-19.

Resaving Pages
Dreamweaver has several built-in measures to help you keep your work safe. If you
have not saved a page after you have edited it and you try to close the page or exit the
program, Dreamweaver prompts you to save the changes you made to that page. If you
use an element such as a graphic in a page and that element is not yet part of the site,
Dreamweaver saves a copy of the element in the local root folder. (Dreamweaver will
automatically save a copy of each graphic you use in a page if you've created a default
graphics folder. Otherwise, Dreamweaver will prompt you to save a copy of the graphic
or element.) By including copies of all of the fi les associated with a site within its local
root folder, you prevent a myriad of complications from occurring.
Saving Frequently
It is important to save frequently—at least every 10 minutes—and whenever you have
finished modifying a page. Also, make sure that all pages in the Web site are saved
before you preview the site. Anyone who has worked on a computer for any length of
time can confirm that programs crash at the least opportune moment. Saving your work
frequently prevents large losses.
