Kapa INTERNATIONAL $$$
(Quebra-Canela; mains CVE1350; 6pm-2am Tue-Sun) Upscale beachfront spot with a loungy out-
door area and a varied menu of international and local favourites. The night to come is
Thursday, when there's live music. Friday and Saturday are lively too, as the upstairs pub
gets packed.
Drinking & Nightlife
The best of nightlife and live music in Praia happens in hidden little bars that aren't easy
to find without a local. Platô has surprisingly little night-time action.
The big night of the week in Praia is Thursday, known locally as sextinha, or little Fri-
day.
Kebra Cabana BAR
(Quebra-Canela beach; 2pm-2am Mon-Fri, 10am-2am Sat & Sun) Cool beach bar with a hipster crowd,
loungy tunes, live music on Friday nights and good food to boot.

(Rua da Prainha) Just up from Quebra- Canela beach, Alkimist is a low-key, popular hang-out.
Snack Bar Serenata LIVE MUSIC
(Rua Capela 30; 4pm-midnight Tue-Thu & Sun, 6pm-3am Fri & Sat) Lively hang-out in a small leafy
courtyard in Achada Santo António, where locals drink beers and grogue (a sugar cane
spirit) and snack on inexpensive food to the sounds of morna and coladeira peformed on a
small stage.
