( 2614337; www.girassol.cv ; Rua Serpa Pinto 35; s/d CVE4770/5936; ) The positioning of this sky-
blue hotel, right in the heart of all the action, is tops. The cheaper rooms are clean and
well-equipped, if a little dark, and make for a decent Praia base. The new, pricier, lighter
units (singles/doubles CVE5936/6996) overlook the front street. There are laundry ser-
vice, tours around the island and airport transfers on request.

( 2608440; www.oasisatlantico.com ; Prainha; s/d from CVE13,900/17,400; ) On a breezy
bluff pointing out to sea is this glossy Praia address. Though similar to a business-class
hotels around the world, the spacious rooms are comfortable with a touch of class. Some
come with garden views; others overlook the ocean.
