Kitten Ears
A kitten's ears are a good indicator of its mood. The ears on the left side of
this illustration are swiveled to show the back sides. This indicates irritation
and possibly aggression. The ears on the right are facing forward in an
alert, contented position. Pay careful attention to your subject's mood while
you are photographing it. If the kitten's ears begin to go back, it means he is
uncomfortable with the unfamiliar situation of having a camera pointed at
him. Either stop and try to soothe him with affection or treats, or put the
camera away until a time when the subject is feeling more relaxed. It's easy
to get caught up in the excitement of getting “the perfect shot,” and forget
that the subject may be getting frightened or irritated.
