In-Depth Information
Persian Kitten
Persian kittens (above) differ from other kittens in that they have flattened
muzzles, which can give them a grumpy expression if you are not careful
when drawing them. Pay special attention to their eyes as well. I find that if
you draw a Persian kitten looking upwards, it looks more appealing than if
the kitten is looking down or straight ahead. Persians have extremely soft
fur, so you will want to add tone with a dirty tortillion in some areas.
Kitten versus Cat Proportions
A kitten's features (above left) are different from an adult cat's (left) in rela-
tion to the size of the head. The nose and mouth are more delicate, while
the ears seem larger. When drawing baby animals, many people make the
mistake of turning them into tiny adults, so it's important to pay attention to
the differences in proportion.
