7. The last thing we'll do in Camera Raw before heading over to Photoshop is to im-
prove the skin tone, as it looks a little too orange for my liking. Go to the HSL/
Grayscale tab, and in Saturation drag the Oranges slider to -30.
Nondestructive Retouching in Photoshop
We're all done in Camera Raw for now, so next we'll take the photo to Photoshop as a
Smart Object.
1. Hold down the Shift key and click Open Object.
2. To improve the composition and add to the canvas area we can use the Crop tool.
Using the Crop tool, drag out the handle on the right side to roughly the same dis-
tance the background is from the model's arm on the left side, and press Return/
Enter. Add a new blank layer to the top of the layer stack, and name it composi-
tion ( Figure 7.5 ) .
