238. Keep checking for discounts- even after you've booked your Disney vaca-
tion. This is especially true if you're staying on Disney property. Disney
just loves to have its resorts filled to capacity and frequently offers dis-
counts of up to 30% to ensure this is the case. After having booked a
'standard view' room in February to stay at the Polynesian Resort during
our summer Disney trip, I noticed a Disney commercial on TV advertising
the 30% discount.
Since standard view rooms go for about $500 per night during the peak season,
this would be a substantial savings for a one week stay. I called Disney, and al-
thoughtheydidn'thaveanyofthestandardviewroomsavailableatthediscounted
rate,theyDIDhavethemeparkview-thebestviewintheresort!Iupgradedtothe
theme park view room AND still saved about $150 from my original reservation
price. We were able to watch the Wishes fireworks show and the Electrical Water
Pageant that takes place in the Seven Seas lagoon, right from our balcony!
