The 1769 Sam Black tavern was moved
to a new site in 2002 after a property
transfer. Documented in Thomas Jeffer-
son's diary, the tavern is now on the
National Register of Historic Places.

This chestnut-log house was built by
Captain Beadle around 1788. The new
owners had the vision to see past the
complete disrepair and the overgrown
site (which was cleared during construc-
tion). The house is now on the National
Register of Historic Places.
