The weekend house at Culloden Farm was moved in 1979 to this hilltop above the Kentucky
River. The chimneys are of the local blue limestone.
This cabin in Wintergreen,
Virginia, combines old
chestnut logs with a new
frame wing and full base-
ment. The result is a cabin
that successfully inte-
grates traditional building
materials with contempo-
rary design and function
(complete with a hot tub
on the back deck). The
owners commemorated
the restoration with a
plaque thanking the
McRaven crew.
