Restorations
This house at the base of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains was built to be as maintenance-free as possible; its
materials include vintage logs, stone, cedar siding, bronze screening, and rough-sawn oak. The kitchen/dining
room is housed in the stone section, and the living room and bedroom are in the log section.
During the complete on-site restoration of the Beadle house in 2002, the owners added a frame addition for the
kitchen and dining room, which has a wonderful view of the lake and rolling backyard. They also added a small
two-story log cabin for the new master bedroom suite and a guest room.
