The well-travelled owners are fluent English-speakers with a knack for creating a home-

from the red-hot lobby to the sexy rooms, some with tubs right next to the bed. Note that the
cheapest ones are tiny. Distinctive feature: the spa with indoor beach and on-site yoga and
pilates classes. Optional breakfast is €20.

The Berlin outpost of this happening Portuguese chain is a great fit for travellers with a pen-
chant for streamlined design that carries through from the striking black-metallic lobby to
the spacious rooms. Service is unpretentious and caring and the restaurant is a great place
for indulging in Atlantic cuisine. The pool and gym are rather small, though. Breakfast is
€18.
