The spirit of French crooner Serge Gainsbourg seems to waft through this seductively lit lair
beneath the S-Bahn arches. Round tables, candlelight and chanson all exude a cosy Parisian
vibe that speaks to a crowd that includes many old enough to have made out to 'Je t'aime',
Serge's steamy 1969 duet with Jane Birkin. Classic cocktails.

Puro has quite literally raised the bar in Charlottenburg - by moving it to the 20th floor of
the Europa-Center, that is. Trade Berlin funky-trash for sleek decor, fabulous views and
high-heeled hotties. Two dance floors flank a central bar with fireplaces, leather couches
and dim lighting. The crowd skews young but moneyed. Dress nicely.

This legendary men-only party den with Berlin's largest darkroom was a techno pioneer way
back in the '80s and still hasn't lost its grip on the scene. Its predecessor, run by drag-queen
Romy Haag, was a favourite David Bowie hang-out.
