Short-Term Home Exchange
The least expensive way to stay in Paris for a few weeks or
months is to exchange your home for one here. International
home exchange companies list homes available worldwide
in brochures and on the Internet. Members pay to list their
homes, specifying the dates available, and can search for those
in the city of their choice. In your listing, you should describe
your home, the surroundings and amenities. You correspond
with the people who respond, provide photos of the property,
check recommendations of people who have stayed before in
that apartment and come to an agreement.

Apartment Hotels
For stays of more than a week, especially for stays of a
month or more, consider résidences hôtelières or apartment
hotels, which combine the comforts of an apartment with
the amenities of a hotel. Suites are of various sizes and
include cooking facilities. If regular cleaning services and
a concierge are important to you, consider an apartment
hotel, although, of course, they are much more expensive
than an individual apartment. An apartment hotel can be an
easy way to spend a month or so, especially while searching
for long-term lodgings. The companies below rent short-
term, fully equipped apartments of various sizes and prices
in convenient locations around the city. See also English-
language advertisements for other such companies, as well
as short-term apartments rented by agencies and individuals
in FUSAC (see page 84 for a description of FUSAC ).
