She had a boyfriend named Drago then, an immigrant from some Eastern
European country. I don't believe he was a legal immigrant, so he couldn't really

an independent film, playing a cab driver. It was set in New York's meatpacking
district. It was a bare-bones independent film. But when we were going through
this stage of having these mushroom tea parties, and partying all night, we'd still
be there in the complete depths of the night, at two in the morning.
That also happened to be the only time when the streets were clear in the
meatpackingdistrict,soyoucouldshootyourfilmwithoutalotoftrafficaround.
So Drago would come out in his bathrobe with his toothbrush and tell us in his
Eastern European accent, “I've got to go to verk.” Then he would do all his toi-
letries, as if he were getting up at seven a.m. to go to work at a regular job, while
the rest of us were just partying with abandon.

third and Sixth. She used to cop coke in that bar—there was so much coke there.
I went there a couple of times to pick her up after work, but I got embarrassed
by the nudity and stuff. But once when I visited Billy's, and she was stripping on
stage, she got everyone to sing the songs that accompanied her dancing. As she
danced, she had all these degenerate strip bar patrons singing like an old-fash-
ioned sing-along!
