Pulpit Rock by Car
If you've got your own vehicle, you can take the car ferry (adult/child/car Nkr42/21/
125, 40 minutes, up to 24 departures daily) from Stavanger's Fiskespiren Quay to
Tau. From the pier in Tau, a well-signed road (Rv13) leads 19km to Preikestolhytta
Vandrerhjem (take the signed turn-off after 13km). It costs Nkr60/30 per car/motor-
cycle to park here.
An alternative route from Stavanger involves driving to Lauvik (via Sandnes along
Rv13), from where a ferry crosses to Oanes (adult/child/car Nkr24/12/59, 10
minutes, departures almost every half-hour).
Either way, the trip between Stavanger and the trailhead takes around 1½ hours.
