This reconstruction of a 1500-year-old Iron Age farm, 4km south of the centre, features
various activities, staff in period dress and food preparation on Sunday. Take bus 5a or 5b
towards Sandnes to Ullandhaug (Nkr32, 15 minutes) from next to the Radisson Hotel on
Breiavannet lake.

Less ambitious in scope, the
Museum Information Office (tour free with entrance
ticket to Maritime Museum; 11am in English, 1pm in Norwegian Jul-mid-Aug)
has a daily tour through the Maritime Museum and the immediate vicinity. Tours focus on
the city's seafaring history; they leave from outside the museum information office.
VISITING LYSEFJORD
The most spectacular aspect of visiting Lysefjord is the two-hour hike up to
Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), although a ferry along Lysefjord is an alternative for
those who can't make the hike. For general information on the region, check out

From May to mid-September, five to seven ferries a day run from Stavanger's Fiske-
spiren Quay to Tau, where the ferries are met by a bus, which runs between the Tau
pier and the Preikestolhytta Vandrerhjem. From there, the two-hour trail leads up to
Preikestolen. The last bus from Preikestolhytta to Tau leaves at 7.55pm. Conveni-
ently, two companies -
