Videos for the creation of the metallic textures as well as other elements in this chapter are included on
the DVD.
Another good type of metal to look at is a surface that features anisotropic reflections . These are reflec-
tions that are stretched in some way. This stretching can be either unidirectional or multidirectional. In its
simplest form, the Anisotropy setting stretches reflections based on a UV map—positive values stretch re-
flections along the vertical (V), and negative values stretch along the horizontal (U). Figure 11-23 shows a
blurred material with Anisotropy set to 0%, 100%, and -100%.
