In-Depth Information
This displays a window to the virtual machine where you will be prompted to
start installing the operating system. For further instructions, please refer to Red
Hat Enterprise Linux Installation Guide available at https://access.redhat.com/
documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/Installation_Guide/ .
The following screenshot explains the various settings we discussed in the preceding sec-
tion on using Run Once to start the operating system installation:
After the installation is complete, shut down the virtual machine and reboot the hard
drive. You can now connect to your RHEL virtual machine and start using it to deploy
your application for the end user access.
Installing guest agents and drivers on RHEL guests
The RHEV guest agent and drivers for Linux and Windows guests improve overall guests'
performance and allow RHEV-M to show the memory, CPU, network utilization, IP ad-
dress of the virtual machine, installed application of these virtual machines, enable Single
Sign-On ( SSO ), and more.
To install the guest agent on your RHEL virtual machine, subscribe your guest operating
system to the Red Hat Enterprise Virt Agent channel of Red Hat Network.
For RHEL 5 guests, you need to subscribe to the channel named rhel-x86_64-rhev-
agent-5-server , and for RHEL 6 guests, you need to use the channel labeled rhel-
x86_64-rhev-agent-6-server .
