Note
If you enable Do not allow migration under the Host setting, it will prevent you from en-
abling the virtual machine High Availability and its priority.
High Availability settings
Move to the High Availability settings to define the following high availability features
for a virtual machine:
Priority for Run/Migration queue : This sets the priority level for the virtual
machine to be migrated or restarted on another host.
Watchdog : This is a timer that is used to automatically detect and recover from
failures and is especially useful for servers that demand high availability. You can
attach a watchdog card to a virtual machine. The only supported model that you
can choose from the drop-down menu at the time of writing this topic is i6300esb .
You can also configure what action is to be performed from the drop-down menu
if a virtual machine failure is detected by the watchdog. For more information on
using watchdog, please refer to the Virtual Machine High Availability Settings
Explained section in the Creating Virtual Machine section of RHEV Administra-
tion Guide available at https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/
Red_Hat_Enterprise_Virtualization/3.3/html/Administration_Guide/Virtu-
al_Machine_High_Availability_settings_explained.html .
To make the virtual machine highly available, check the Highly Available option,
as shown in the following screenshot:
