In-Depth Information
Wailea
While all of the major resorts in Wailea offer yoga classes as part of their fitness center
offerings, periodic yoga classes are also taught at REPS Fitness Center (161 Wailea Ike
Pl., 808/875-1066, www.repsfitness.com ) to accompany the $18 spin classes, $15 Pilates
classes, and range of personal training and workout options. Yoga class schedules vary, so
contact the gym beforehand to find out the current times.
Makena and Beyond
If you're a guest of the Makena Beach and Golf Resort there are twice-weekly compli-
mentary yoga sessions which take place on the oceanfront lawn.
SPAS
Kihei
Despite the fact that Valley Isle Day Spa (1847 S. Kihei Rd., 808/298-9246,
www.valleyisledayspa.homestead.com , 8am-8pm daily) is in a Central Kihei strip mall,
the services inside could still be exactly what you're looking for. The rates here are far
more affordable than the fancy resorts ($95 for 60-minute massage), and like other spas,
they also offer aromatherapy, reflexology, facials, body treatments, couples packages, and
a decent range of beauty products.
If you're staying in Ma'alaea or North Kihei and don't want to travel all the way
down to South Kihei or Wailea, Massage Maui (145 N. Kihei Rd., 808/357-7317,
www.massage-maui.com ) is another low-key massage option where you can either meet
the masseuse in the Sugar Beach location or arrange for an outcall massage where the ther-
apist visits you in your condo. A 60-minute massage will cost $95, and outcall services
will usually run about $20 higher than the in-spa price.
Wailea
When it comes to choosing the best spa in South Maui, it is tough to argue with a
50,000-square-foot luxury arena that has been voted not only as the best spa in the Hawaii-
an Islands, but also among the top 10 spas in all of the United States. Such is the case with
Spa Grande (3850 Wailea Alanui Dr., 800/772-1933, www.spagrande.com ) , the pala-
tial spa inside the Grand Wailea which completely redefines the concept of pampering.
All guests are advised to arrive an hour early so as to enjoy a casual—and compliment-
ary—soak in the termé hydrotherapy baths before moving on to your scheduled treatment.
