foliation? Do them all. They're included with your package! Of course, you're ultimately
paying for all of the extravagance (a 50-minute massage treatment will be $155-175 on
average). Along with an enormous selection of facials and treatment options, there's also
a beauty salon and fitness center.
The Spa at Four Seasons (808/874-8000, www.fourseasons.com/maui/spa , 8am-9pm
daily) is just as lavish and over the top, and a nice perk here is the option of getting a mas-
sage in an oceanfront cabana. The prices are often a touch higher than at Spa Grande, but
the offerings of wellness options, facials, body treatments, and massage are no less im-
pressive.
Other Wailea resort spas include those at the Fairmont Kea Lani (4100 Wailea Alanui
Dr., 808/875-2229, www.fairmont.com ) and the Mandara Spa (3700 Wailea Alanui Dr.,
808/891-8774, www.mandaraspa.com , 8am-8pm daily) at the Wailea Marriott.
If the high prices of the resorts are too much to stomach, but you don't want to
travel far, then the Maui Zen Day Spa (Wailea Gateway Center, 808/874-6000,
www.mauizen.com , 10am-6pm daily) is just up the road at the Wailea Gateway Center and
offers much of the same services at a moderately discounted rate. It's in the upstairs sec-
tion of an upscale strip mall, but if the only thing that matters is relieving that stress in
your neck, you can come up here to work it out and still have some money left over for
dinner. A 60-minute massage will cost $99, and they also offer facials, acupuncture, aro-
matherapy, and in classically Wailea style—botox injections.
Aroma Stone Wailea Healing Center (161 Wailea Ike Pl., 808/264-9999,
www.aromastonewailea.com ) is another “out of resort” option that only requires a five-
minute drive, yet saves you enough money you could almost come back for a second
round. Close to the Wailea Tennis Center in between the Shops at Wailea and the Wailea
Gateway Center, this healing zone offers 60-minute massage treatments for $90 that focus
on the use of hot stones and aromatherapy.
Makena
The best option for a spa treatment this far south is at the oceanfront Makena Kai Day
Spa (5400 Makena Alanui Rd., 808/875-5858, 9am-6pm daily) on the beautiful shores of
Maluaka Beach. Value is the name of the game: the $115, 50-minute massage treatment
beats the resort prices just 10 minutes up the road. If you're looking for an oceanfront mas-
sage at a comparatively affordable price, then your best bet is going to be found at the end
of the road.
