In-Depth Information
Figure 12.10
The heightmap shown in the World Renderer.
Note
Heightmaps must be in the power of 2 and square in size, which means they must be 64x64,
128x128, 256x256, 512x512, or 1024x1024 in size. This is a requirement of Realm Crafter and not
keeping to these file sizes will mean that the import of the file will fail. You should check the size of
the heightmap in your chosen paint package, such as MS Paint, Photoshop, and so on, before
importing.
Note
The world that you create may not look perfect, but you can then use the World Terrain Editor to
modify it. The aim of the heightmap is to get the right shape and structure of your world quickly.
You can fine-tune its look once you have a world shape that you are happy with.
Using the World Terrain Editor
Realm Crafter contains a tool that allows you to directly edit a zone
s terrain.
Once you have imported a terrain, you then have the opportunity to tweak it.
You are also able to place items in the terrain and color it.
