This letter is only suitable for use with IC or ICD.
Dear
We refer to our notice of the [ insert date ] submitted under the provisions of
clause 4.17 of the conditions of contract and our letters of the [ insert dates ]
enclosing the further information you required to form an opinion and carry
out ascertainment of the amount of loss and/or expense.
[ Insert number ] weeks have elapsed since we last submitted such information
to you and, during that period, neither you nor the quantity surveyor have
requested further information or details. Clause 4.7.2 imposes a duty on you
to certify ascertainment under clause 4.11 in your certification of interim
payments 'to the extent that it has been ascertained'. Please inform us by
[ insert date ] the amount which you have ascertained and intend to include in
the next certificate.
