nonfluctuating response (Parkinson’s disease)

A state of therapeutic stability in which anti-Parkinson’s medication predictably and consistently control the symptoms of Parkinson’s. Typically, this is the expected response in the early and mid stages of the disease and can continue for years and sometimes decades, depending on the rate of progression and severity of symptoms. During this time, many people with Parkinson’s who have no other medical conditions feel and function as though they are in full health and are able to participate in work and family activities with few limitations. Good nutrition and diet, regular exercise and activity, and stress management practices such as meditation help to maintain lifestyle stability and overall health and well-being as well.
