To Measure the Angle of Small Work Located in a Difficult Position (Metrology)

This method requires the use of a gear-tooth Vernier caliper. This method is very useful in those cases where the work is small and enclosed by sides. All that has to be done in this method is to take readings at two different places. The two reading have to be noted down at one section, i.e. thickness of the piece tx and its depth from the top surface h\. Similarly two readings t2 and h2 are to be noted down at other section with the help of gear tooth Vernier caliper.
Let the angle of the taper be A.
Then in right angled triangle BCD in Fig. 9.12,

Thus the angle A can be calculated.
