Perinuclear Space (Molecular Biology)

The perinuclear space is the lumenal space between the inner and outer nuclear envelope bilayers that separate the nucleus from the cytoplasm. The width of the space is between 100 A and 500 A. Because the outer nuclear membrane is continuous with the endoplasmic reticulum, the perinuclear space is continuous with the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum.
