This adds to utility of measurements on surface plate. The planer gauge consists primarily
of two triangular shaped blocks whose sloping sides can be clamped. A sliding clamping member
having surfaces S and S parallel to datum base, can be slid along the hypotenuse of the triangle,
and clamped in any position with clamp screw. Thus the surfaces S and S move vertically up down
to the height and always being parallel to the surface plate on which planer gauge stands.
