In this work we propose that the study area has
experienced four major changes in basin configu-
ration in late Mesozoic and Cenozoic time. The
four basin configurations are based on different
basin infill patterns and basin geometry, including
width, depth and orientation. These are the Late
Jurassic to Early Cretaceous (basin configuration 1),
Late Cretaceous (basin configuration 2), Early
Palaeogene (basin configuration 3) and Late
Palaeogene to Pleistocene (basin configuration 4).
