3. The groin. In general, assuming your attacker is male, a blow to the groin will drop your attacker
in short order. The male groin is sensitive enough that a swinging blow of a wide-open palm or
fist will probably do the trick, though a hard knee jab ( fig. 10-7 ), elbow swing, or foot kick will
almost always provide a knock down that will keep your assailant down for a long time. Caution:
Sometimes it will take several seconds after a groin strike hits a male assailant before it produces
the desired incapacitating effect. On occasion a drugged-out assailant, or one with an abnormal
physical response (or a protective cup, or thick padded clothing), will not succumb to a full-con-
tact groin strike, so do not ease up on your counterattack until your opponent is clearly incapacit-
ated!
