animal is often more dangerous than an unwounded one, so be effective or prepare to deal with
the consequences. In The Art of War , Sun Tzu suggests you do not “burn your enemy's kitchen”
or leave him no retreat, or wound him unnecessarily. This will cause him to fight with a reckless
abandon for which you may be unprepared. Don't make matters worse for yourself. Be decisive
in your attack, causing as much damage as you can! You do not want to fight the same opponent
twice.

2. Throat . A firm blow to the throat with your elbow, fist, or knee will drop your attacker instantly
( figs. 10-5 and 10-6 ). It is not hard to collapse the windpipe, so by all means “go for the throat”
of your opponent while doing your best to protect your own.
