performance of the extended range predictions from CFAN in forecasting
tropical cyclones in the North Indian Ocean has been examined for the period
2007-2010. CFAN forecasts seems to be sufficiently reliable for a lead time of
seven days or less. The summary of the performance of CFAN during 2007-
2011 for cyclogenesis and landfall forecast are presented in Table 1.
