the glint reflectance obtained with the new formulation, at the same wind
speed, specially for the low speed case (e.g. 2 m/s). This observation can
be explained with the help of Fig. 1. There we see that at low wind speed,
the empirical Cox and Munk 1 , 2 formulation is equivalent to the new for-
mulation only on the high wave age region ( β> 1 . 2), therefore the high
reflectivity observed on the simulated Sun glint is a direct effect of wave
