7.9.2 Cement and silica fume stabilized precast columns
Kalantari et al. (2012) have used precast cement stabilized peat columns, with and
without the addition of silica fume to study the compressibility behaviour of peat.
Plate load tests were also conducted to study the bearing capacity of precast stabilized
peat columns.
The compression ( C c ) and recompression ( C r ) indices of undisturbed peat and
peat stabilized with precast columns are shown in Figure 7.38(a) and the stress-strain
