El Viejo Caicallén PARRILLA $$$

happy place, offering all sorts of meat dishes, pastas, salads and sandwiches. There are
usually a couple of regional faves such as black butter trout and grilled goat to choose
from, too.

Getting There & Away
Regular buses depart for Zapala (AR$105, three hours), Neuquén (AR$223, six hours).
There's one bus per day to Varvarco (AR$80, three hours) at 2pm. Two minibuses a day
leave for Buta Ranquil (AR$50, two hours) - if you want to connect to the bus for Men-
doza catch the 4:30pm one.

NORTH OF CHOS MALAL
Heading north from Chos Malal brings you to a couple of wonderful, rarely visited
attractions. Public transportation is rare and often nonexistent, but if you have the
time and patience you'll be well rewarded.
