There are some good short walks from the village, including a popular day trek that goes
up past the Cascada Escondida waterfall to Laguna Escondida . Another walk to the
four waterfalls known as Cascadas Agrio starts from across the bridge at the entrance to
town. The tourist office has an excellent map showing these and other walks around the
area.

(treatments from AR$45) If you fancy a spot of pampering, this hotel has a day spa where
you can enjoy a thermal bath and treatments.
Centro de Ski Cerro Caviahue SKIING
( 02948-495043; www.caviahue.com ) A little under 2km west of Caviahue, this ski resort
has seven chairlifts, and four Pomas, which take skiers all the way up to the peak of Vol-
cán Copahue (2953m). Equipment hire (skis/snowboard around AR$140 per day) is also
available on the mountain or in the village. Adult day passes range from AR$233 to
AR$338, depending on the season.

guna Termal and Volcán Copahue, rents mountain bikes in summer and offers dog-sled-
