Sleeping & Eating
There are only a few places to stay unless you rent a cabaña (cabin; the tourist office has
a complete listing).
There are also a couple of restaurants tucked into the trees and a general store.
Albergue & Camping Vulcanche HOSTEL $
( 0294-447-9028; www.vulcanche.com ; campsites per person AR$35, dm AR$80; ) In a
beautiful wooded area on the eastern edge of the village, this grassy campground and
hostel has decent dorms and a good kitchen.
Hostería Villa Traful HOTEL $$$
( 0294-447-9005; cabanastraful@yahoo.com.ar; s/d from AR$350/420) A pleasant little
mom-and-pop-run operation on the western edge of town. Rooms are aging but comfort-
able, there's a good restaurant on the premises, and the owners organize boating and fish-
ing trips.
Ñancú Lahuén ARGENTINE $$$
(mains AR$80-110; lunch & dinner; ) A cute little log cabin set up in the center of the
village. Trout dishes are the specialty (try 'em with the almond sauce), but the menu
stretches to parrilla and a good range of salads as well.
Information
Banco de la Provincia de Neuquén, in the middle of the village, has an ATM that accepts
Visa and MasterCard.

Shares an office with the guardaparque (park ranger) in the middle of the village.
Getting There & Away
Villa Traful has better bus connections in summertime (December to February). La
Araucana has daily services to Villa la Angostura (AR$38, two hours) and summer ser-
vices to San Martín de los Andes (AR$55, 2½ hours). There are services from Bariloche
(AR$40, two hours) daily in summer and three in summer.
