decent bathrooms. The restaurant (mains AR$40 to AR$80) is the town's most reliable
eating option.

Change money on the Bolivian side of the border or at the bus terminal. Call centers and
internet places abound.
Banco Macro (Árabe Siria 441) Has an ATM.
Information Kiosk (Av España s/n; 10am-1pm & 4-8pm) Run by a hostel, this offers de-
cent information opposite the bus terminal.

Getting There & Away
The chaotic bus terminal (cnr Belgrano & España) has frequent connections to Jujuy
(AR$70, four to five hours), Salta (AR$150, 7 hours), and good-value services to Buenos
Aires (AR$520, 28 hours). There is no transportation to Bolivia, but a few Argentine
long-distance buses leave directly from Villazón's bus station.

Yavi

Picturesque, indigenous Yavi, 16km east of La Quiaca via paved RP 5, is a great detour
and lazy little hideaway, with the tumbledown romanticism of its adobe streets and two
fascinating colonial-era buildings.
