Run with a caring attitude, this excellent narrow hostel a short walk from the plaza offers
a genuine welcome, comfortable bunks and a patio with a tiny plunge pool. It's colorful
and relaxing with good facilities, although the kitchen could be better. Despite the street
number, you'll find it between 1411 and 1419.
Residencial Misiones GUESTHOUSE $

( 443-0133; Av Azara 1960; s/d AR$90/130) Offering seriously cheap rooms in a charac-
terful central building, this is a budget option for those who want a clean, inexpensive
sleep. The mattresses are in reverse gear, but it gains points for the low prices and the
staff's caring attitude. Rooms vary in quality, so have a look at a few. All have bathroom.
Le Petit Hotel HOTEL $

Peaceful and simple, this budget place is run by a kindly, helpful couple and features
dark, clean, adequate rooms with big bathrooms around a leafy patio. It's a quiet, safe
residential zone but only seven blocks from the heart of things.
City Hotel HOTEL $

( 443-9401; www.misionescityhotel.com.ar ; Colón 1754; s/d AR$250/420; ) Bang on
the plaza, the City has just about the biggest sign in a big-sign town. The rooms are old-
fashioned and vary; some are rather un-inspiring with lino floors, but others, right up on
the 10th and 11th floors, are nicer, with plenty of air and picturesque views from what's
just about the city's highest point. Cheaper during low season.
