This
luxurious, private option is on the bank of the Paraná - huge here, above the Yacyreta
dam -near the northeastern tip of the Esteros. The rooms - some in the historic original
building, others in annexes - are impeccable, with great river views. Meals and service
are excellent. Excursions to the Iberá, their cayman farm, the monkey path and along the
river are included if you are staying here.
There should be a spa complex by the time you read this. Half- and full-board (double
from US$752) rates are offered.
Eating
All of the midrange and top-end accommodations options provide meals for their guests.
If you ask in advance, and they have space, most of them allow nonguests too. There are
other simple options in town. Eating hours are early: sit down before 2pm for lunch and
before 9pm for dinner.
Yacarú Porá

thusiasm, this bungalow guarantees a warm welcome. The food is prepared to order and
features generous portions of meat, chicken dishes, pasta, salads, omelets and
milanesas
(breaded cutlets).

Likeable and family-run, this
simple place, with the picturesque horse carts it's named for in the yard, does tasty home-
cooked food adorned with fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden. There's no menu
and a limited selection: if you fancy local specialities, order in advance. Get here before
9pm for dinner.
Information
Note that as yet there is no bank or ATM in Colonia Pellegrini, so take plenty of cash.
Wi-fi is widespread but at the time of research there were no public computers outside
the lodges.
