and the menu seems a little humdrum at first glance. But what a place this is. Fish and
seafood are prepared to give maximum expression to the natural flavors; it's all delicious,
quantities are enormous, and the salads are particularly praiseworthy.
Escauriza SEAFOOD $$$
( 454-1777; www.escaurizaparrilla.com.ar ; cnr Bajada Escauriza & Paseo Ribereño; mains
AR$70-120; lunch & dinner) Just behind the Florida beach in the northern part of the city,
this legendary place is one of Rosario's best spots to eat seafood. The enormous open
dining area is redolent with the aromas of chargrilling river fish and plump fried cala-
mari. Service, quality and quantity are all highly impressive. Book, get there at noon, or
wait and wait if you want to lunch here on a summer weekend.

8pm-1am; ) A sound choice on the Pellegrini strip, this typical upmarket grillhouse has
really excellent cuts of meat - the vacío is special - allied with enough waiters that you'll
never have to, er, wait. The only downsides are the closely spaced tables and mediocre
wine list.
