6.4.1 Introduction

The. turbine. wind. blades. protected. with. covered. luminescent. paints. will.
provide.visibility.under.night.conditions..All.the.electronic.signals.could.be.
transferred.from.carbon/carbon.or.carbon/iber/epoxy.composites.covering.
with.luminescence.paints.throughout.the.components.manufacturing.with-
out.delay.
The.protective.luminescent.paints.are.currently.used.to.make.point.mea-
surements.on.a.coniguration.(propulsion.model).for.performance.or.acous-
tic.analysis.
Wind. turbine. blades. described. the. luminescent. paints. or. thermoplas-
tics. layers. for. nonintrusive. measurements. of. steady. and. unsteady. pressures.
and. temperatures. for. complex. conigurations. for. performance. and. vibration.
characteristics.
Pressure.sensitive.paint.(PSP),.temperature.sensitive.paint.(TSP),.and.thin-
ilm.MEMS.(microelectromechanical.systems).are.examples.of.nonintrusive.
pressure/temperature. measurement. technologies. used. for. wind. turbine.
design.and.testing..Such.capabilities.are.desired.for.underwater.applications.
as.well..Capacity.sensors.measure.pressure.in.propeller.blades,.which.were.
