at least October, 2010 he hunted Bin Laden by tracking Bin Laden's intermediate messengers
cell phones, following of all things the white rhino cover on the intermediaries SUV spare tire
supposedly by satellite, observing of the compound and how they disposed of their waste
(dung), and then with stealth and stalking, SEALS Team Six swooped down and pounced on
him. The New Yorker magazine article by Nicholas Schmidle makes it clear this was an
extraordinary hunting expedition by another name. Such is the irony of modern society,
reported by a magazine hardly know for reporting on hunting expeditions. Furthermore, the
polls told us that most Americans approved of the hunting expedition. But is it not also ironic
that an attorney chooses the hunting process to eliminate USA enemies, by elite fighting men
using hunting tactics, using air force drones and hunting process, or personally choosing targets
to shoot and kill them, whereas President Bush, a hunter and businessman chose the more inter
cave warfare like option of capturing our adversaries and then kept them locked up for later
trial and justice? Hunting is alive and well and being used at the highest levels.
Blue Angels
I recently spoke to Secretary of Defense Bob Gates about another matter, but at the end of
the conversation I told him I was looking forward to reading his topic. It will be interesting to
read his thoughts, since he witnessed the disaster during the failed attempt to rescue the
captives in Iran at the US Embassy and had voted against a SEALS attack on Bin Laden
because of insufficient proof and the risks. Clearly his documentation of the hunt for Bin Laden
over 10 years and the involvement of President Obama as a hunter will make for fascinating
reading, as a comparison the description in the New Yorker of the actual final segment of the
hunt for Bin Laden.
