buffered saline (pH 7.4) ( 3 ).

All of buffer solution can be kept at room temperature and are
not harmful. All of fi xative solution, such as glutaraldehyde,
paraformaldehyde, and formaldehyde should be kept at 4°C
and are harmful for inhalation and contact.
2. Post-fi xative osmium tetroxide: very harmful for inhalation
and touch; easy to volatilize; should be treated in the draft.
3. The other propylene oxide: harmful for skin touch.
3. Methods
1. Transmission electron microscopy (Fig. 1a ):
After perfusion fi xation, the brain with arteries is taken (see
Chap. 46 ) . The artery to be evaluated is taken apart from the
brain under an operative microscope or a substance microscope.
For example, when SAH is produced by blood injection into
the cisterna magna, the basilar artery that is subject to be examined
