In-Depth Information
Perched high on a hill, this 27-hole course has impressive views of the Outlying Islands.
Nonmembers can only book two days in advance.
SLEEPING
You can rent holiday flats from kiosks set up at the Mui Wo ferry pier. Expect to pay
HK$250 on weekdays and HK$350 on the weekend for a double room or studio. Not all the
places are within walking distance of the pier. Needless to say, the airport has plenty of ho-
tels geared towards tourists.
CAMPGROUND
PALM BEACH
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 2980 4822; www.palmbeach.com.hk ;Cheung Sha;4-person tepee Mon-
Thu/Fri-Sun HK$620/$950, 6-person safari bush camper HK$980/1350; 3M from Mui Wo)
Never mind the incongruity of sleeping in a Native American-style tepee on a Hong Kong
beach. These cosy, family-size tepees, complete with sleeping bags, are ideal for those who
want to camp, but don't fancy roughing it too much. Go even more upscale with a canvas
'safari bush camper' permanent tent, which comes with air beds and camping tables.
If you've got a group, the largest teepee sleeps 20! Palm Beach also offers water sports
and other activities.

From the Ngong Ping bus terminus, take the paved path to your left as you face the Tian
Tan Buddha, pass the public toilets on your right and follow the signs.

Housed in a century-old former police station, this is Lantau's newest hotel. All nine rooms
are handsomely furnished in a contemporary style, offering top-of-the-line comfort. Our fa-
